CARTON HOUSE

Mark O'Meara, the 1998 US Masters and British Open Champion, has designed his first European course at Carton House.

O'Meara, of Irish descent describes Carton House as absolutely perfect for the development of a world class golf course. O'Meara has made excellent use of the existing mature woodland for his design. Of particular note are holes 13, 14 and 15 which are guarded by the River Rye, with the 14th capturing the beautiful Shell Cottage as a backdrop.

Colin Montgomerie, Europe's top golfer for an unprecedented 7 years, is the designer of the second course at Carton House Golf Club. The Montgomerie is a masterpiece in golf course design. Using the natural contours of the land and adopting the classic features of the great links courses, combined with the experience of growing up on the links of Scotland, Colin has produced a golf course that will stand the test of time as one of the great Irish courses.
