The Palmer course at the K Club will host the 2006 Ryder Cup matches. This magnificent parkland course designed by Arnold Palmer is a great test for golfers of all levels. A great selection of teeing areas sets this venue up suitable for all handicap ranges. There is no doubt that the eighteenth is a hole that is going to be the scene of much high drama when the Ryder Cup is played at the K-Club in 2006. A par-five of 520 yards, it is with the second shot that the real problem lies. Provided the good player can find the fairway with his drive, the large green is easily within reach. The problem is again, water. There is an enormous lake to the front and left of the green, which again feeds the ball towards the water. This is a hole only for those with nerves of steel, and will truly sort out the men from the boys in the Ryder Cup. The newest addition at this magnificent complex is the Smurfit course. Having already hosted and tested the cream of European golf at the 2005 European Open, this golf course is designed in links style with rolling fairways and holes to test the nerve of golfers no matter what level you play at. A visit is a must.
